 The
two red arrows on the above photo show the inlet and outlet pipes for the pool,
from which we have a leak
 The
leaking pipes are flowing into a 8 foot deep room (the room is about 6feet square).
From this room, the water flows into the outside soil.

sky light above the entrance to Pool 2. The sill is completely rotten, due to
the lack of any guttering. We will have to completely remove this sky light, before
re-opening to the public - it will be completely rebuilt at a later date.

| Update
on progress on 'Public Safety Works' to Moseley Road Baths during Winter 2004/5
- Sunday, 1st October 2005 Important
piece of news: A
new date has been set for the public re-opening of Pool 2, it is Sunday 16th October.
This week long delay is due to a last minute effort to stop a leak from Pool 2
- more on this later Progress
on works as of 1st October 2005 Chimney The
rebuilding of the boiler House Chimney is complete, except for the refitting of
the cast iron cap. The cap was supposed to have been delivered back to site during
week starting 5th Sept. It is now expected to arrive on week starting 3rd October.
The delay is due to last minute welding up of cracks. When the cast iron cap was
re-assembled and bolted together, cracks appeared around several bolt holes -
these have been welded and the stress points removed The
work on the chimney will not prevent the re-opening of Pool 2 to the public Pool
2 All scaffolding has been removed and the pool cleaned out. Initial
filling of the pool has revealed a severe leak at the deep end - this leak has
existed for several years and it is only now that we have been able to identify
its location. The leak is coming from the two pipes that lead into and out the
pool. The photographs on the webpage show this is more detail. Initial
attempts to plug the leak have failed. There will be another attempt on Tuesday
4th October. Terracotta
Domes Internal work to the terracotta domes has finished. Last minute re-pointing
is now taking place. Roof Work
is on going to repair as many leaks and missing gutterings/slates as possible.
